Gavin DeGraw is a good singer. His band is great and the music (I did not know before) is pretty d.mn good. The concert was held in an old church in Amsterdam (Paradiso), which made the experience very good. It was a pity that the low sounds were so d.mn loud that we decided to leave the concert before the end. Still, the Missus and I had a great time.Contrary to my expectations, work did not continue well into the evening, and I got to run straight after coming home. Despite the wind, the run was good. Because of the wind, I decided not to do any speed-work (though I should have, according to my self-imposed schedule). It was a lovely day for a 9K medium paced, which I did.
The stats:
Distance: 9 K
Duration: 49:17 Min.
Avg. pace: 5:28 Min/K
On 27 May, Runforlife wrote a blogpost on blister prevention with Engo blister prevention patches. She mentions that the people at Engo would send a sample patch if you would send an email to info@goengo.com. Naturally, getting stuff sent to NL is an expensive proposition, so the US Engo people asked the UK Engo people to send me a sample, which I received today. Being very curious, I stuck them in my shoes straight away to take them on today's run. Though I didn't do a great job placing the patches in the shoes, they worked like a charm. I will definitely be adding some of the patches to my post-vacation order of running gear.Thursday will be my last pre-road-trip run and blogpost. We will spend the rest of the day loading a bag of clothes, our toothbrushes and my running shoes into the car. Friday morning, we will be on our way. Depending on the availability of internet access, I might be away from blogland for the whole period. Naturally, I will be running, but I will probably be commenting a lot less.

Paradiso sure is a nice place. Thanks for reviewing thos patches. While it seems like blisters are the only thing I have not yet been plagued by, I'll keep those in mind for later :-)
Glad you enjoyed the concert. It is always scary going to see someone you don't really knew.
Hey! Thanks for the blister patch freebie link- as you know, I am in need:)
Glad you liked Gavin.
wow, that sounds like a very exclusive concert performance! i've only heard his music on VH1 and he sounds good.
Interesting info about the blister patches. Happy to hear they work so well.
I'll have to check out his music. Sounds like a nice concert.
It's always nice to have less work than expected and be able to get out for a run!
That's awesome they sent you some patches and even better that they work. Thanks for the link back! :)
Have fun on your trip (to France?)
